Oh, sands of my heart 
How I long to touch you... 
Yet no matter how hard I try to hold you to me 
You always find a way to slip out of my grasp 
You slide through my fingers 
So easily 
Taunting me... haunting me... 
Teasing me... provoking me... 
Spilling away in a swirl of iridescent innocence 
Unaware of how you inflame me so 
Ignorant of the passions that blaze beneath my skin 
Ignited by your simple touch 
Oh, sands of my heart 
I beg you-- forgive me 
For I can not help myself 
Even as you are washed away 
In the ocean of his love 
I can not bring myself to stop loving you 
You will always have a place... 
From the bottom of my heart... 
Even as I choke on this image 
Of you held so carefully in the hands of another 
A scene so perfect 
One I never had a chance to be part of 
One I had prayed to share 
With the one I love 
Only to watch her instead 
And force myself to be glad for her 
As I stand alone on the outside...
