I have discovered in my father 
A friend and confidant... 
A mentor... 
A student... 
A lover of all things... 
A worker... 
A musician... 
A poet... 
An open ear for pouring one’s sorrows... 
An artist... 
A critic... 
A dreamer... 
A guardian angel... 
A compassionate heart... 
A joker... 
A singer... 
A dancer... 
A judge... 
A jury... 
A storyteller... 
An unbound curiosity... 
A concern unmatched for his children... 
But just when you think you know him 
He throws a curve at you 
And you realize that 
He is mortal too 
And above all 
Not just a father... 
But a dad.
